An emotional Liverpool fan welled up on BBC 5 Live thanking fans for the Hillsborough tributes over the weekend

A very emotional Liverpool fan, David, called Kelly Dalglish and Ian Wright on BBC 5 Live’s post match call-in on Sunday in a tearjerking moment after the Reds beat Man City 3-2.

Whilst David did want to talk about the manner of LIverpool’s win over City, the lifelong Reds supporter also wanted to speak out loud about how the Hillsborough tributes over the weekend affected him.

David, who said he walks with two walking-sticks, disclosed how he’ll be at the Hillsborough memorial service on Tuesday, whilst also thanking fans from around the country for their solidarity over the weekend.

The Liverpool fan called Manuel Pellegrini a “gentleman” for shaking every Liverpool players hand at Anfield, whilst his welled up describing how Steven Gerrard’s post match emotional affected him.
