Ivan Lovric is no longer so special.
Several weeks back we brought you the Hungarian-based story of how Honved defender Lovric saved a penalty against Videoton in the last minute of the match.
Less than three weeks later, a similar situation arose in the match between Racing Club and San Martin San Juan in Argentina on Monday night.
Racing were 3-1 up as the final seconds of the match ticked over, when home keeper Jorge De Olivera collected his marching orders after clattering San Martin forward Claudio Riano in the box. Having used all their subs already, Racing midfielder Agustin Pelletieri took the goalie jersey and gloves and was forced to face a spot-kick.
Then came the incredible.
Like a boss Pelletieri correctly guessed the direction of Gaston Caprari’s penalty, and the midfielder managed not only to save the spot-kick but also to scoop up the ball in the process.
Enjoy Agustin Pelletieri’s penalty save below.
