But the North Africans turned the game on its head within a 12 minute spell. Bezzaz levelled the match with a deflected shot, Saifi was given the freedom of the box to head Algeria ahead, and Yahia added the third with a header from a corner. Sonko grabbed a consolation for Senegal.
Libya 1 – Ghana 0 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2008) It was a bad night for the Black Stars, and Mishel Essien individually, who was forced off midway through the first half with an injury. Eventually, after going close on several occasions, the Greens won the game with a well-worked goal from experienced striker Ahmed Osman capitalising on some poor defending.
