Former Southampton teammates Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Luke Shaw were handed starts for Arsenal and Manchester United respectively last night.
Arsene Wenger’s men won the thrilling FA Cup quarter final 2-1 thanks to a Danny Welbeck second half winner.
Today, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took to social media to ‘banter’ his former Southampton teammate Luke Shaw.
Shaw was, harshly, dragged off at half time by Louis Van Gaal and could do nothing but watch on as his side were knocked out the cup by the holders.
Having sent The Ox a pre-match tweet, the 23 year old midfielder finally replied this afternoon to Arsenal fans delight.
Oxlade-Chamberlain tweeted a picture of himself laughing, including the hashtag that Luke Shaw had initially sent him: #sorrynotsorry.
Luke Shaw’s only hope of revenge is finishing above Arsenal in the league. The Red Devils are two points behind the Gunners but host them again at Old Trafford later this season.
