Aitor Karanka walked out of Middlesbrough after a player’s revolt (BBC Audio)

One of the big stories on Saturday in England centred on Middlesbrough.

Boro, who are pushing for promotion to the Premier League, announced that manager Aitor Karanka will not be in charge of Sunday’s match against Charlton.

While the club failed to explain why, BBC 5 Live radio have revealed some incredible details about what’s happened behind the scenes.

5 Live Sport’s Mark Clemmit understands “there was a heated meeting yesterday and the word ‘revolt’ has been used. He wanted a show of support; He was underwhelmed with the players that backed him, and told the players that he didn’t want to manage them anymore.”
