20-year-old Adnan Januzaj got himself into a bit of trouble during Manchester United’s FA Cup defeat at home to Arsenal on Monday night.
Januzaj picked up a ugly booking towards the end of the match, when the youngster executed a clear-as-day dive in an effort to win a penalty.
Having knocked the ball past Arsenal left back Nacho Monreal, Januzaj received a slight tug on his jersey which was all the invitation he needed to theatrically throw himself to the turf in the Gunners box.
Januzaj’s dive conned no-one, and the Man United winger was booked for simulation.
Januzaj’s yellow card tabled a damning statistic against the upstart.
In his entire Man United career, Adnan Januzaj now has more yellow cards for diving (5) than goals (4) for the Red Devils.
Januzaj wasn’t alone in collecting a needless booking from the ref, and Angel di Maria let his team down far worse by getting himself sent off for putting his hands on the official.
Manchester United’s next run of matches are Tottenham (h), Liverpool (a), Aston Villa (h), Man City (h) and then Chelsea (a).
