A great goal you won’t have seen: Connor Clifford (Chelsea) v Nottingham Forest, FA Youth Cup

The FA Youth Cup ties being played this week have flagged up some potential stars of the future. Highly-rated young Liverpool striker Lauri Dalla Valle confirmed his burgeoning talent with a hat-trick for Liverpool in their 5-1 win over Leicester (goals here) and Chelsea fans are likely to enjoy the clips below of Connor Clifford’s stunning strike for the Blues at Nottingham Forest.

The Chelsea Under-18 side ran out 4-0 winners at the City Ground thanks to two goals from Marko Mitrovic, one from Daniel Papoe and a howitzer from Clifford. The 18-year-old Republic of Ireland midfielder is reportedly making a name for himself with long range efforts like this and could well be a name to remember.

Perhaps Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will use Clifford whilst his African star midfielders Michael Essien and Jon Obi Mikel are in Angola?

Connor Clifford’s fantastic strike for the Chelsea youth team can be seen here with a fans eye view, showing the pace of the shot, here.
