The Estadio Dragao was host to a quality friendly tonight: Barcelona 2006 taking on Porto 2004 for Deco’s testimonial, who played a half with either side.
Lionel Messi came on for Barcelona in the second half, and was involved in 3 of the 4 goals scored by the Cules ’06: setting up Eto’o after rouding the keeper for the first, combining with Deco for the second, and scoring the fourth himself.
Messi looked well refreshed after his post-World Cup break, coming on at half time, and showed searing pace to dribbled Vitor Baia for the first goal, passing to Eto’o to finish it off.
Eto’o then returned the favour, laying on a perfect cross for Messi to score a rare header, which he looped over the keeper’s head.
