A crazy wind-assisted goalkeeper own goal: Assaf Mendes (Maccabi Haifa) for Dynamo Kiev

Everybody loves a wind assisted own goal and this may be one of the craziest of all time.

Maccabi Haifa took on Dynamo Kiev in a friendly today, ahead of Israel’s friendly with Ukraine, and the match was played in ridiculous weather conditions as the wind took on biblical proportions.

The friendly match was only 60 minutes long but there was enough time for one of the strangest goals ever seen. Kiev’s second saw Haifa goalie Assaf Mendes take a goal kick.

Mendes’ punt forward did travel some distance before incredibly coming back on itself past the stunned custodian.

Reports in Israel add that later on in the game one of the goals simply flew in the air causing a delay to the match.

Footage of the crazy wind-assisted goalkeeper own goal is on this video.
