Tuesday night in Israel saw a stunning strike from 40-yards crash into the back of the net.
The match was a promotion/relegation playoff between second division outfit Ironi Ramat Hasharon (playing in white) and third division hopefuls Maccabi Kafar Kanna (pictured), with the superb opening goal arriving moments before the halftime whistle.
The build-up to the main event was rather ugly on the eye.
The action began with Maccabi’s centre-half, under no real pressure from an opponent, unceremoniously hoofing an up-and-under up the pitch as the defender appeared to want rid of the hot potato. Embarrassingly, when the ball dropped for the Ironi number 26, the defender (again under no real pressure) simply lost all co-ordination, making a complete hash of trying to control the ball.
Oren Zilka wasn’t complaining, the striker latched onto the loose ball and with just one touch cracked home a beauty from way, way out.
The strike however was not enough to claim the win, Ironi battled back to eventually run out 2-1 winners thanks to a second half brace from Emmanuel Banahene.
