A brilliant goal you won’t have seen: Blair Turgott (West Ham XI) v AFC Hornchurch

With their opening Championship game of the 2011/2012 season coming up on Sunday afternoon, West Ham sent an inexperienced side to face AFC Hornchurch in a friendly on Saturday.

Hornchurch ran out 3-1 winners thanks to a hat-trick by Martin Tuohy but it was an England Under-17 youngster who provided the moment of the match with a fantastic equaliser for West Ham on 33 minutes.

Blair Turgott received the ball on the right and after beating the left back managed to beat the keeper with a floated shot into the far top corner.

To those that may say Turgott’s goal was a fluke or a mishit cross, the West Ham starlet has responded on Twitter: “aimed it back post and to be fair, did see the keeper out a bit :p … It was a cross/shot LOL…”

Perhaps Sam Allardyce will fancy giving Turgott a chance in the West Ham first team this season.
