Bordeaux have now registered the two fastest ever goals in Ligue 1 history.
Monday night in France witnessed one of the most rapid goals of the season as Bordeaux forward Yoan Gouffran punctured the Auxerre backline after only 13 seconds of play.
The goal itself was a little scrappy.
Auxerre’s Georges Mandjeck was guilty of losing the ball straight from the kick-off, allowing Ludovic Obraniak to quickly release Gouffran at the edge of the penalty area and his left-foot shot beat goalkeeper Olivier Sorin.
Gouffran’s strike, however, was two seconds slower than the Ligue 1 record set by Denilson back in 2006 when the Brazilian got Les Girondins off to a flying start against Nice.
