Will 2018 League Cup semi-finalists Bristol City enjoy another memorable cup run?

Since narrowly losing to Manchester City in the last four of this competition five seasons ago, the Robins have actually only won just three of seven League Cup ties.

One of these did come in the previous round with Kal Naismith, Tommy Conway and Andreas Weimann all on target in a 4-1 victory over Coventry.

Since, Nigel Pearson’s team have enjoyed back-to-back victories in the Championship, including beating Cardiff 2-0 in Sunday’s Severnside derby.

This leaves Bristol City seventh in the second-tier and makes them favourites for this tie.

In contrast, Wycombe Wanders, who were beaten in the League One play-off final in May, have not made a fantastic start to the season.

In this competition, Gareth Ainsworth’s side ousted Northampton at Sixfields in round one, with Joe Jacobson and D’Mani Mellor the scorers.

So, Wycombe are aiming to reach round three in back-to-backs seasons for the first time ever.

Who will prevail at Adams Park?
