Eintracht Frankfurt will be in search of their first win in two games after a solid turn around in their form since the World Cup ahead of the visit of Hertha Berlin to the Deutsche Bank Park with the latter in dreadful form still.
It’s been a long year and a bit for Hertha in Germany. The club have seen their rivals Union Berlin rocket up the league table just as they have fought relegation for the past two seasons. Now, they sit 17th and in deep trouble.
Things have been made worse for Hertha since the World Cup, and if fans thought that their club would move up the league table after a lengthy break, they were very wrong.
The Berlin side have already lost to fellow strugglers VfL Bochum since the return, and combine this with a 5-0 thrashing from Wolfsburg and a 2-0 defeat to city rivals Union at home, and it means the club have a gap of two point to make up and have still won just two games all season long.
As for Frankfurt, they remain in sixth after 1-1 draws with sides above them in the table: Freiburg and Bayern Munich. A 3-0 win over Schalke two weeks ago keeps them within five points of Bayern at the top.
