Bayer Leverkusen are looking for a return to the win column after a 1-1 draw with Freiburg ahead of the visit from Hertha Berlin to the BayArena just as the men from the capital now sit outside of the bottom three.
Hertha’s excellent 2-0 win over Augsburg was their second victory in February from four games and they are now up into 14th and above the relegation zone by three points for the first time in many months.
Marco Ritcher and Dodi Lukebakio both scored a goal each in the 2-0 win over Augsburg, but this was just their fifth win of the season with 12 defeats still on the board alongside 40 goals – only Werder Bremen have conceded more for those outside of the drop zone.
As for Leverkusen, Sardar Azmoun netted another goal that day in the 1-1 draw, although this does still keep Xabi Alonso’s men way off where they are expected to be in the Bundesliga.
Alonso’s side now sit 14 points behind the Champions League spots and come into the game without a Bundesliga win since early February when they defeated Hoffenheim.
