Having retired earlier in 2016 after struggling to recover from a head injured, Stoke City this week treated club legend Andy Wilkinson to a testimonial.
The 31-year-old defender joined Stoke all the way back in 1998 as a 14-year-old boy and came through the divisions with them before reaching the promised land of the Premier League in 2008.
Having never scored a goal for Stoke City, it was obvious that a pitch invasion would take place if the one-club man scored a goal.
Awarded a penalty late on, there was only one man that was going to take it and there was only ever one outcome – partially because the keeper didn’t want to save it!
A Britannia Stadium pitch invasion followed.
