The majority of stories about Arsenal today have related to Alexis Sanchez potentially leaving the club in the summer. The Chilean maestro is in a contract wrangle at the minute. With his deal set to expire in 2018, the Gunners might have to find a replacement. They could do worse than converting Rob Holding.
Okay, they could do much better but we’re going somewhere with that point. It comes after the defender showed off his playmaking ability in an Arsenal U23 win.
Holding actually scored the first goal in their crushing 4-1 over Chelsea U23’s. After Donyell Malen doubled the advantage, Holding ran the length of the pitch before playing in Reiss Nelson for a third goal.
Danny Welbeck finished off the scoring from the penalty spot.
Since his £5 million move from Bolton last summer, Holding has made three appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal. The 21-year-old has made seven other appearances in all competitions.
