The exciting matchup also Sergi Darder sent off after just 36 minutes, with late, late goals from Lukas Lerager and Malcom earning the away side a hard-fought point.
While there were a number of talking points stemming from the game, one that has very much taken the headlines since is the stunning long-range opener netted by Lyon captain Nabil Fekir.
Having picked the ball up deep inside his own half, Fekir made a darting run towards the centre circle.
With nothing looking on for the diminutive attacker, he spotted Bordeaux goalkeeper Benoit Costil off his line.
Long known for his creativity and ability to create something from nothing, Fekir proceeded to very much live up to his reputation, smashing a rising effort from spot on the halfway-line, over the head of Costil and into the empty away net.
