Man City get shock win over Barcelona
Manchester City managed to pull off a shock win against Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium tonight.
Despite losing the reverse fixture 4-0, Pep Guardiola’s put on a much better display in front of their home fans tonight and came from 1-0 down, to win 3-1.
They initially trailed through a tidy Lionel Messi finish, 20 minutes into the game.
However, a brace from Ilkay Gundogan – which was his second in consecutive matches – along with a stunning free-kick from Kevin De Bruyne, sealed the victory for the City.
City are still 2nd in the group, 2 points behind Barcelona but have left themselves with a brilliant chance of qualifying for the round of 16, provided everything goes to plan.
Keown says Man City have fear factor
Speaking after the game, former Arsenal defender turned BT Sport pundit, Martin Keown, was quick to point out that not many sides will want to face City with the talent they have.
Keown stated that he believes Barcelona will still top the group but that City look the real deal at the moment.
He said that they will be feared by many in the competition and that they could do well as their manager, Pep Guardiola, is experience in the Champions League.
