Everton’s Europa League qualifying clash with Croatian side Hajduk Split was marred by crowd trouble after the away fans started a riot.
The traveling supporters were angered by Everton’s second goal courtesy of Idrissa Gueye who slotted into the bottom corner.
Summer signing Michael Keane had initially given the Toffees the lead before Everton went up another gear.
Then, the Split fans were not happy in the slightest and began to riot in the away end situated in the corner for the Bullins Road stand.
The Croatians attempted to infiltrate the home end but were quickly thwarted by the army of stewards on the scene.
Regardless, the scenes did turn ugly as fans broke down the advertising hoards and began assaulting the stewards as well as launching projectiles at the home support.
Both the Everton and Split sides had to be taken off the pitch after the referee adjudged the situation too dangerous to continue the game.
Hajduk players then had to go across and plead with their own supporters to calm down to enable the tie to continue.
The tie was eventually resumed after the police were able to get the situation under control but that is not something we want to see in football.

Could Everton sign Diego Costa?
It was a shock on Thursday when reports claiming that Diego Costa could actually make a move to Everton appeared.
The Spanish striker is currently on strike at Chelsea as he looks to force through a move to Atletico Madrid.
Though, due to the clubs transfer ban, they would likely loan the player out until January.
That loan destination could be Everton.
