When FA Cup history repeats itself!
Thanks to the long Bank Holiday weekend, Arsenal fans have had a bit of extra time to bask in the glow of winning the FA Cup on Saturday against Chelsea.
Very few pundits gave Arsenal much hope of winning the FA Cup final against Chelsea, who had won the Premier League thanks to a record number of wins.
1979 & 2017
Meanwhile, many Arsenal fans have noticed the similarities between their 1979 FA Cup final winner and the one scored by Aaron Ramsey against Chelsea two days ago.
The 1979 FA Cup final is long remembered as one of the greatest ever. Arsenal led 2-0 for much of their encounter with Manchester United.
The Red Devils came back to 2-2 in the final minutes, only for Arsenal to knock them out with a sucker punch, thanks to a famous goal by Alan Sunderland.
Aaron Ramsey wins it!
On Saturday, Chelsea fought back with 10 men, after Arsenal had dominated and when Diego Costa scored the Blues equaliser, Gunners heads could have dropped.
Instead, substitute Olivier Giroud crossed for Aaron Ramsey to win it.
The video below shows how similar the two Arsenal winners are. Quite uncanny!
