Wenger on Arsenal’s poor start
When speaking after Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Ludogorets, Arsene Wenger admitted that he side started slowly.
He stated that his side were caught by surprise early on but recovered well, keeping their composure and sticking to the plan.
He said that he was happy his side levelled things before the break but admitted that Arsenal’s performance dropped a little in the second half as they looked a little tired.
Wenger then added that despite the harshness of the free-kick Arsenal conceded for the first goal, his side could’ve defended better and we’re caught out early on.
Wenger praises Ozil
Of course, Wenger also gave comment on the match winner, Mesut Ozil.
Ozil kept his composure in the 87th minute, to loop the ball over the keeper and place it into the back of the Ludogorets net, to win the match for Arsenal.
The goal was of top quality and Wenger was quick to praise his midfield man for keeping calm under pressure in the dying minutes.
Wenger stated that he thought Ozil should’ve shot earlier than he did but admitted that the mark of a great player is making the correct decisions.
