West Ham hold extravagant Boleyn Ground ceremony after win over Manchester United [Tweets]

With West Ham United playing their last game at Boleyn Ground against Manchester United tonight – ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium – the club held an extravagant ceremony to honour their beloved ground.

In an emotional night for Hammers fans, it was only fitting that West Ham won their last game at the Boleyn Ground, in dramatic fashion. The side came from 2-1 down, to win 3-2 against the Red Devils, which of course, meant a lot to the fans and also jeopardised Manchester United’s top four hopes too.

However, after the game, it was good to see West Ham honour some of their fans and players that have played their part over the years, in making the Boleyn Ground, the atmospheric ground it is has been over the years.

Although, was it a little too much? No doubt it was a sad day for West Ham fans, to wave goodbye to a stadium they have loved for many years, but was the ceremony a bit over the top? Some football fans seemed to think so.
