FA face backlash following release of cup semi-final dates

The Football Association face a backlash from Manchester City fans following their announcement of the FA Cup Semi-final dates at Wembley.

The ties, due to take place on the 22nd and 23rd of April, will feature Chelsea v Tottenham and Arsenal v Manchester City.

The fixture between two London teams in Chelsea and Spurs has been arranged to take place on Saturday.

This has prompted a strong reaction from Manchester City fans, who will need to travel back to Manchester following their game on Sunday.

With the game set to kick-off at 3 pm, trains to Manchester in the evening will be unlikely at best.

With two London clubs set to clash on Saturday, fans feel it would make much more sense for those to play on Sunday.

This would allow City fans enough time to return home for the work week.

Though, complications could have made it difficult if Chelsea and Spurs were to play on Sunday due to the London marathon.

City fans fuming

It is safe to say that Manchester City fans did not take the news well.

Not only does it complicate their work plans, most feel it is unnecessary with two London teams playing on Saturday.

Safe to say it was not pretty in the FA’s mentions.
