VIDEO: Top Gear’s Clarkson, May & Hammond rile Boro fans by donning Toon shirts at the Riverside

The cheeky chaps from BBC’s excellent Top Gear show - Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond - risked the ire of the RIverside stadium last Saturday as the trio ran on the pitch at halftime all draped in Newcastle shirts.

After initially being pelted with a chorus of boos from the livid home support, the TV personalities quickly disappeared back into the players’ tunnel before returning with red Boro strips on instead.

Looking to placate the crowd, Jeremy Clarkson got on the loudspeaker to bellow, “People of the North-East, We apologise for that terrible mistake. It was James’ fault!”
