Alan Pardew is sacked
Crystal Palace are cold.
Just days before Christmas they’ve sacked manager Alan Pardew after a horrific 2016 calendar year.
Palace did reach the FA Cup final last season, losing 2-1 to Man United in the showpiece, but in the Premier League it’s been a tragic story on the pitch.
In 36 games this year, the Eagles only have six wins. They also have eight draws and twenty-two defeats. During that time Palace have scored 44 and let in 67.
More importantly, no other team in the top flight has performed worse and avoided relegation.
How Palace aren’t in the bottom three is something of a miracle.
The official statement
The club announced the decision on the official website, saying:
Crystal Palace F.C. have today asked Alan Pardew to step down as Manager of the Club.
Club Chairman Steve Parish said, “I would like to put on record our sincere gratitude for the tremendous service Alan has given us, both in his time here as Manager and previously as a player.”
Palace are away to Watford on Boxing Day, before games against Arsenal and Swansea.
Few people, including Palace fans, appear upset for Pards.

Crystal Palace won just six games in 2016. Even Jeff Fisher could have done better. Maybe.
