OVERHEAD Vote: Top 10 Goals of the WeekWhat a week for golazos!

The list kicks off with a goal that had whiff of that George Weah solo special for Milan against Verona all those years ago, as a little known Lebanese forward picked up a corner on the edge of his own box before (and here is where the similarities break down) scoring a ridiculous lobbed golazo from way, way out.

Goal 2 consisted of not just one, but two backheels in the attack as Zenit scored the goal of the week in the Champions League, whilst Europe’s bastard club competition – the Europa League – provided a 35-yard howitzer that blew away Stoke at position 3.

In Brazil on Friday night the long range rippers kept flowing with a sensational right-footed strike (goal 4), whilst on Saturday in Germany the match between Kaiserslautern and Borussia Monchengladbach supplied two entries in our top ten with an outside-of-the-boot curler (goal 5) and yet another top-corner torpedeo (goal 6).

AFCON 2012 maybe over but the African Champions League is only just beginning, and last weekend’s big match in Tunisia supplied an unstoppable far corner floater at spot seven.

That leaves three final golazos: the solo goal of the week in Poland sits at position eight, the obligatory acrobatic entry of the week is found at number nine, whilst the top ten is closed out with a Brazilian belter from PSG’s newly recruited centre-half.

Voting for your favourite goal can be made at the bottom of this post and otherwise just sit back & enjoy!
