Another seven days of football has come to a close, but before we delve into the best strikes that were on show, a little time should be taken to highlight those less fortunate souls from the past week.
Goalkeeping howlers were in fashion, as the men between the sticks struggled. The less said about Heurelho Gomes the better, while in Friday night’s game in the Bundesliga both Bochum’s Daniel Fernandez and Hannover’s Florian Fromlowitz did their reputations no favours in a 1-all draw. Lyon’s reserve keeper Remy Vercoutre also earned himself a long stretch on the bench after his poor performance against Metz in the cup.
Crapness was not exclusive to the number ones though, as Sunday night’s match at KC Stadium found both Tal Ben Haim and Kamil Zayatte struck down with a serious bout of momentary retardation.
Thankfully, the blend of the midweek cup matches and weekend league action brought about a fine collection of super goals to savour. Of note, goal 6 has a special strike from a set play, the requisite overhead-volley can be found at goal 7, and goal 10 shows the way to break your goal-scoring duck.
As always, just sit back and enjoy!

Ibrahimovic’s first goals stands out easily, in my humble opinion, that is.
