On Saturday, 21-year-old Saudi striker Nawaf Al Abed scored what papers in the Kingdom are claiming to be the fastest goal ever recorded in a professional football match. The incident too place in the match between Al Hilal and Al Shoalah, which ended 4-nil to the hosts in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup, with the goial officially clocked at two seconds.
Straight from the kickoff, Al Abed spotted the Al Shoalah goalkeeper off his line and that was all the invitation needed for the striker to try his luck from the halfway line. With power and accuracy, Al Abed launched a shot goalwards which flew of the keeper’s head and into the net.
Question-marks do have to be levelled though at the Al Shoalah goalie, who managed to make absolutely no attempt at trying to save the ball even though the shot appeared to sail over the keeper’s head at a potentially saveable distance.
Nawaf Al Abed’s two-second goal can be seen here.

Mexican football also had their own quick-fire goal this weekend as Chivas Guadalajara striker Omar Bravo needed just 13 seconds before putting his side ahead at Atlas.

I signed up with these guys – http://www.liveustv.com
Best games are shown on Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta - got fed up with the lack of decent quality P2P streams that were ‘here today and gone tomorrow’. I can also watch the Saturday afternoon Premier League games not shown in the UK. I have a SlingCatcher, so I can watch the stream on my 37″LCD TV at a very watchable resolution. Keeps the wife and son quiet too, she gets all her Lost and Desperate Housewives long before they are shown here and he gets all his MLB and NFL games. Saves me forking out for an ESPN/NASN subscription!

Sure, that was a fantastic gaol. Nawaf Al Abed said that he always try that trick at game start, and was trying to do it since he was very young.
