About Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, or PSG for short, was founded on 12 August 1970 in Paris.


Paris Saint-Germain’s colours are blue, red and white. Their home kits have varied throughout their history but have generally featured some combination of these colours. The club’s current crest was adopted in 2013 and features the Eiffel Tower and the fleur de lys.


Paris Saint-Germain’s home stadium is Parc des Princes which seats over 48,000 spectators. The club moved into the stadium in 1973.


In 2011, Qatar Sports Investments became the majority shareholder of Paris Saint-Germain. Since then, the club have been able to compete financially with the top teams in Europe; buying players like Edison Cavani, Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrhamovic, Javier Pastore, David Luiz and Angel di Maria.


The club has won five Ligue 1 titles, including three consecutive titles under their new ownership. Their honours list also includes nine Coupe de France wins, five Coupe de la Ligue trophies and a UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup.


In his two spells as manager of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Fernandez took charge of 244 games, more than any other manager in the club’s relatively short history. Laurent Blanc is the club’s most successful manager, having won eight honours.


The club’s all-time top goalscorers are Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pauleta, who scored 109 goals during his time at the club. Jean-Marc Pilorget has the most appearances for the club, with 435.


Notable former players of the club include Geroge Weah, David Ginola, Youri Djorkaeff, Nicolas Anelka, Jay-Jay Okocha and Ronaldinho.
