Sergio “Kun” Aguero was born on 2 June 1988 in Beunos Aires, Argentina. The striker currently plays for Manchester City, after joining the club in 2011.


Aguero began his youth career with Independiente in 1997. Aguero made his senior debut on 5 July 2003, becoming the league’s youngest ever player at 15 years of age. However, it was not until his fourth and final season at the club that Aguero became a regular in the side. Aguero made 56 appearances for Independiente, scoring 23 goals.


In May 2006, 18-year old Aguero was signed by Spanish club Atletico Madrid for a fee of €23 million.

Aguero scored just 7 goals in his first season for Atletico. The following season, Aguero scored 27 goals and firmly established himself as one of the top strikers in the division. Aguero helped Atletico win the 2009-10 UEFA Europa League. During his time with the club, Aguero scored 101 goals in 234 appearances for the club.


On July 2011, Aguero signed for Manchester City for a fee of €45 million. On the final day of his first season with the club, Aguero scored one of the most memorable goals in Premier League history: A 94th minute title-winning goal to hand Manchester City their first ever Premier League title from the clutches of their Manchester rivals. Aguero finished the season with 30 goals in all competitions. In the 2013-14 season, Aguero and City won their second Premier League title as well as the League Cup. After four seasons with the Citizens, Aguero had already scored over 100 goals for the club.


Aguero was part of the Argentina sides to win the 2005 and 2007 U20 FIFA World Cups, where he won the Golden Shoe and Golden Ball awards. He was also in the side which won gold at the 2008 Olympics. Aguero made his senior international debut in 2006 and finished a runner-up with the side in the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 Copa America.
