About Joe Hart
Joe Hart was born on 19 April 1987 in Shrewsbury, England. The 6’ 5” goalkeeper plays for Manchester City and the England national team.
Hart began his youth career at Shrewsbury Town, before making his professional debut for the club at the age of 17, in a Conference league match against Gravesend & Northfleet on 20 April 2004. Hart was named in the League Two Team of the Year for the 2005-06 season, his last with the club. He made 58 appearances for Shrewsbury before signing for Manchester City in the summer of 2006 for a fee of £100,000.
Hart made his City debut on 14 October 2006, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Sheffield United. In the same season, Hart was loaned out to Tranmere Rovers and then to Blackpool, making 6 and 5 appearances respectively.
Hart was loaned out to Premier League side Birmingham City for the 2009-10 season, making 41 appearances for the club and was named Birmingham’s Player of the Year. Hart returned to City ahead of the 2010-11 season, where he firmly established himself as City’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Hart was named in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year for the second time in the 2011-12 season. City’s League and Cup double in the 2013-14 season saw Hart win his fourth Premier League Golden Glove in five years. He made his 300th appearance for the club in the 2015-16 season.
Hart made his England debut on 1 June 2007 in a friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago. He was named in the squad for the 2010 World Cup but he did not feature at the tournament. Hart has won over 50 caps for England, appearing at Euro 2012 and the 2014 World Cup.
