Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard was born on 7 January 1991. The Belgian international plays as an attacking midfielder and a winger. Hazard Joined Lille’s youth side in 2005 and made his senior debut at in the 2007-08 season at the age of 16.


Hazard’s career really took off the following campaign, when he broke into the Lille first team and became an integral part of the side. He ended the campaign with 35 appearances and 6 goals and was awarded the title of Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year, an award he retained the following season.


In the 2010-11 campaign Hazard helped guide Lille to a domestic double and was named the Player of the Year in France. Hazard won the award again the the 2011-12 season, his final season for the club. Hazard scored 50 goals for Lille in 194 appearances.


With four Player of the Year awards in four years, Hazard was hot property and was targeted by the biggest clubs in Europe. After much speculation, Hazard finally signed for Chelsea on 4 June 2012, for a reported fee of £32 million.


He adapted to the Premier League straight away and was named in the PFA Team of the Year in his first season, helping Chelsea win the UEFA Europa League. The following season Hazard won the PFA Young Player of the Year award.


Hazard enjoyed his best season in 2014-15, scoring 19 goals en route to helping Chelsea win the League and Cup double. The season’s star player was named FWA Footballer of the Year, PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and Premier League Player of the Season.


Hazard has made more than half a century of senior appearances for his national side, which he has represented at various youth levels. However, after a disappointing showing at the 2014 World Cup, his international career has not yet reached the heights of his club career.
