Picture Special: The gay kiss rocking Honduran football (Orlin Peralta & Brayan Beckeles)

Honduran football has been in uproar this week after a picture of two footballers seemingly smooching on the lips was snapped during the match between Vida and Deportes Savio.
The players involved were Vida midfielder Orlin Peralta (in the background) and defender Brayan Beckeles (in the foreground).
The match ended 2-all, with Orlin Peralta having grabbed the opener after 10 minutes of the contest.
With homophobia rife in football and the players’ reputations at stake, the pair have been forced to go on the record to deny that they actually sucked face with one another, arguing that the angle of the picture distorted the real image of the pair actually kissing on the cheek.

Players kiss each other on the lips all the time when they’re celebrating a goal. Move along people, nothing to see here.

I’m dumbfounded by the homophobia pervasive in world football. let’s be big boys and move on. i know we have some young footballers out there but we aren’t gradeschoolers anymore. let’s all grow up.

It’s a shame they had to come out and say they’re not gay. Why would that even matter? Great assist, worthy of some tongue actually.

It shouldn’t matter if they’re gay or not. The only complaint should be if it was ‘overcelebrating’. Also there’s plenty of videos of folks like Alan Smith and someone else at leeds having a smooch after a goal, and Rooney and someone else… Silly to focus on it to be honest.
