Both the Italian Serie A and Spanish La Liga competitions could well have a video assistant referee in place from next season.
The use of video referees is slowly coming into football and is now being included in several of the top leagues.
This morning it was reported that the Italian top flight will be looking for approval to use the system next season.
That was followed up by the news that La Liga officials have already notified their referees of the decision.
Following several questionable decisions in both leagues as well as others around the world, it is certainly welcome.
There have been suggestions that the Premier League will follow suit but there may be some time before it.
About time video technology being used in Europe's top 5 leagues. Will reap rewards and hopefully rid of referee bias if used correctly

Madrid stars plead with player to join
Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo have attempted to convince Robert Lewandowski to join the club.
This came after Bayern and Madrid’s clash at the Bernabeu in which Real were able to qualify to the next stage.
After the game, the pair approached Robert who is seen to be a big fan of Real Madrid.
While nothing is set to happen immediately, it could be a sign of a future move.
