Alvaro Morata to Chelsea is all but done!

After a summer of speculation, Alvaro Morata is all but a Chelsea player.

The Spanish striker was heavily linked with Manchester United, was reportedly speaking with Jose Mourinho on a daily basis.

And, even dyed his hair red in preparation for a move to Old Trafford. However, Manchester United signed Romelu Lukaku from under the noses of Chelsea.

Which lead the Blues to start negotiating with Real Madrid…

Antonio Conte finally gets his man!

As is now well known, Antonio Conte has been a long-term fan of Alvaro Morata.

The Chelsea manager brought Morata to Juventus before taking over as Italy manager but has kept a keen eye on the Spanish striker.

According to reports overnight, Conte is delighted with the move and Morata will be the direct replacement for Diego Costa.

Antonio Conte famously texted Costa to tell him he was not in Chelsea’s plans this season and this Spanish striker is expected to sign for Atletico Madrid in the coming weeks.

Whilst Chelsea and Real Madrid have announced the agreement on a transfer for Morata, the Spaniard still has to arrive in London for his Blues medical.

This was made somewhat complicated by the fact Real Madrid are currently in the USA preparing for the new season and where they will play some mouthwatering fixtures.

A video has emerged showing Alvaro Morata bidding farewell to his Real Madrid team mates.

We see Morata hugging Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane and the Chelsea-bound striker says farewell to many of the coaching staff.

Then comes a slew of fellow Spaniards including Isco, Dani Carvajal, Nacho and Lucas Vazquez. Finally, Morata gives Gareth Bale a handshake on the way out…

Chelsea fans, it’s very nearly done!
