Davinson Sanchez

Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez deal hijacked by Real Madrid

Tottenham, Real Madrid & Davinson Sanchez

This is beginning to feel like bad news for Tottenham.

Over the past few days, stories about Tottenham’s pursuit of Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez have been spreading.

The Ajax centre-half Davinson Sanchez is reportedly keen on leaving Amsterdam. However, Tottenham and Ajax have still not agreed a fee for Sanchez.

Ajax have rejected a 40 million euro offer for Sanchez from Spurs.

The Dutch giants paid 5 million euros for the centre back from Atletico Nacional, in June 2016.

In the meantime, Real Madrid now appear ready to hijack the deal.

Sanchez to Tottenham stalls

On Wednesday, reports circled that Sanchez’s move to Tottenham has stalled.

Why? Because there’s a 10 million euro difference between the clubs, as Tottenham refuse to up their 40 million euro offer, while Ajax are demanding 50 million euros.

Yet, while the clubs cannot reach an agreement, Tottenham have agreed terms with Sanchez himself.

According to reports, Tottenham have agreed a five-year contract with Davinson Sanchez.

But until Ajax agree to sell, the Spurs deal is on ice.

Real Madrid swoop in

Reports out of Colombia now suggest Davinson Sanchez may join Real Madrid.

Gol Caracol have told their readers that Real Madrid are ready to better Tottenham’s bid with a 45 million euro offer to Ajax.

Zinedine Zidane is thought to be targeting the Colombian international as a back-up to Raphael Varane, who has been dogged by injuries in his career.

The report tailed off with the claim that Real Madrid’s offer for Davinson Sanchez will be submitted in the “coming hours”.

As for Tottenham, the still remain the only Premier League club yet to sign a player this summer.
