No future at Liverpool
Defender Mamadou Sakho knows he has no immediate future at Liverpool, and has been linked with a move away from the club for some time.
Now, it seems that Southampton have decided the player is the ideal January move for them, as Jose Fonte prepares to leave following a transfer request being handed in.
Sakho has turned down loan moves away from the club, but if he wants to play, will have to look for another club, and the south coast may be his next destination.
That’s according to the Mirror, who think that for once, Liverpool may sell a player to the Saints, and not buy one – unless there’s a swap deal on the cards.
Fonte is in demand
That’s if the papers are to be believed, with Manchester United and Liverpool heavily linked with the defender, who seems desperate to leave his current club this winter.
Virgil Van Dijk is also thought to be on the move in the next couple of transfer windows, and despite Southampton claiming he’s going nowhere, the fact that they’re a feeder club can’t be ignored.
