French daily L’Equipe are set to get tongues wagging in both Paris and Madrid on Wednesday, as the paper reveal that PSG has a secret plan to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real in 2016.
L’Equipe begin their article reporting on why PSG won’t be signing Ronaldo this summer. In short, the broadsheet notes that financial fair play restrictions mean that the Parisians simply cannot agree a deal with Los Blancos at the moment.
In 12 months time, however, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract at the Parc de Princes comes to an end, L’Equipe believe that PSG will turn attentions to trying to land Ronaldo.
L’Equipe report that PSG have accepted that they have no chance of signing Lionel Messi, leaving Cristiano as the club’s premier aspirational signing.
L’Equipe also note that PSG are one of the the few clubs in the world who can afford Ronaldo’s 18 million euro a season wages.
Finally, the French daily announce that PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Roanldo’s agent Jorge Mendes meet regularly and the pair have a good working relationship.
