As Chelsea struggle in the Premier League, a number of their young players must be thinking if they don’t get a chance this season, when will they get an opportunity.
Amongst the most highly-rated of youth players at Chelsea is 19-year-old Belgian winger Charly Musonda.
Musonda signed a new four-year contract at Chelsea in March but has struggled to make a breakthrough into the first team at Stamford Bridge and is still not even training with Jose Mourinho’s first team.
Having rejected a loan move to Vitesse Arnhem in the summer, Musonda is now being targeted by some of the biggest clubs in England: Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Sunday Mirror report today that Musonda could be an option for one of the big Manchester clubs who are fully aware of his talent.
City are counting on Belgians Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne to help convince Musonda to head to The Etihad, according to the Mirror.
Whilst United could undoubtedly do with some attacking talent to boost their goal-shy forwards.
Whilst United have done business with Chelsea in a recent January transfer window, when Juan Mata headed to Old Trafford, it would be a surprise were Musonda to join such a big club on loan in the coming weeks.
