Belgium daily Het Laatste Nieuws are reporting on Monday that Liverpool are open to sending Divock Origi on loan in January.
20-year-old Origi was left out of the Liverpool squad for Sunday’s disappointing 1-1 home draw with Norwich, as Daniel Sturridge made his long awaited return for the Reds in the match.
So far this season, Origi has only played 16 minutes of Premier League football as he came on as a sub against Manchester United, while the Belgium international was handed a start in last week’s Europa League match against Bordeaux without ever really impressing.
Liverpool signed Origi for £10m last summer, while the striker spent last season on loan at Lille.
The growing sense is that Origi will never cut it at Anfield, and his signing is beginning to look like another piece of business which has failed to help Liverpool’s first team kick on.
It’s also worth nothing that Brendan Rodgers still have Christian Benteke, Sturridge and Danny Ings on his books.
