Nemanja Matic celebrates Golazo v Spurs

Juventus put off by Chelsea’s valuation of Nemanja Matic

Where will Nemanja Matic play next season?

The arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko has meant Nemanja Matic is very unlikely to be playing for Chelsea next season.

The Serbian midfielder, a key part of the Chelsea squad that won the Premier League last season, has not travelled on the club’s US tour.

As a result, speculation is rife about Matic but it is far from clear where his next club will be.

Will Manchester United sign Matic?

For much of the summer, there was intense speculation that Manchester United would sign Nemanja Matic.

At Old Trafford, the Serbian midfielder would join up with his former manager Jose Mourinho.

However, Manchester United’s hijack of Chelsea’s deal to sign Romelu Lukaku has reportedly meant that the Blues will not sell any player to the Red Devils.

Initially, Inter Milan were keen on Matic, now it is the turn of Juventus.

In his pre-Manchester City v Manchester United press conference, Jose Mourinho hinted that a deal for Matic would be difficult.

The ex-Chelsea boss said he wanted four new players this summer, but would now be willing to bring in just three.

Juventus put off by Chelsea’s valuation of Nemanja Matic

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport report on Thursday that Juventus are keen on Matic but have baulked at Chelsea’s asking fee.

The Blues are requesting 45 million euros from any club looking to sign Matic and The Old Lady feel this fee is “excessive”.

Ironically, Chelsea would likely bag the biggest transfer fee from Manchester United for Matic, were they to change their minds about selling to the Red Devils.

Juventus have the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira in their midfield, they have also been linked with Liverpool’s Emre Can this summer.
