Everton v Stoke
It’s fair say Wilfried Bony’s move to Stoke hasn’t gone as planned.
The African centre-forward hasn’t delivered for the Potters, and in recent days Stoke have been tipped to make a move for a striker in the January window as Bony is linked with a move to the Far East.
Somehow still at West Brom, 23-year-old Saido Berahino is back in the news as a possible target for Mark Hughes, but it now seems that Stoke have competition for the attacker.
The Sun v The Times
Wednesday’s edition of the Sun report that Stoke have tabled a £12m bid for Berahino, while Rangers are also tipped to be in the mix for the Baggies forward.
While Stoke fans must wonder if Bony is worth that money, the Times suggest that Everton could move for the forward instead. The broadsheet have today informed their readers of the following:
Saido Berahino is confident of leaving West Bromwich Albion this month after Everton intensified their interest.
Berahino, 23, will reject the offer of a £60,000-a-week contract to extend his stay at West Brom beyond the summer and force a move amid interest from Everton, Crystal Palace and Stoke City, who will not raise their £8 million bid.
Fans make jokes
Many struggle to understand why Berahino is wanted by clubs like Everton and Stoke.
The attacker has barely played any football in recent times, so can he still deliver at the top level?
