The Sam Allardyce revolution starts at Palace

With new manager Sam Allardyce installed and Crystal Palace coming off the back of a woeful 2016, the Eagles were always going to spend big in the winter transfer window.

With Wilfried Zaha away at the Africa Cup of Nations, Allardyce needs new players and he needs them quickly with a Premier League match at West Ham coming up on Saturday.

On Thursday afternoon, it emerged that Crystal Palace are close to signing Jeffrey Schlupp for £12 million from Leicester City.

Leicester fans in hysterics

The general reaction from Crystal Palace fans has been positive, with Eagles fans pleased that they are spending money early in the January transfer window.

In addition, Palace need reinforcements down the left side with their full backs – where Schlupp can play – really struggling this season.

There are also suggestions that Palace could switch to the en vogue 3-5-2 with Schlupp raiding down the left from deep.
