The future of Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling is the top story on the back page of the Sun on Friday, as it’s claimed that Chelsea could make a move for the £50 million-rated England international.
The news comes the day after Reds boss Brendan Rodgers stated that Sterling would not be leaving Anfield.
Sterling’s decision not to sign a new deal at Liverpool – for the time being – has provoked a massive reaction, with many Liverpool fans feeling that it’s best to cash in on the youngster, if he no longer wants to be there.
But Rodgers has insisted that the whole thing has been a misunderstanding, and reiterated that the young star still has 2 and a half years remaining on his current deal.
The Sun now report that Jose Mourinho could try to tempt Sterling to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Along with Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal are named as potential suitors for Sterling in the Sun article.
It’s worth noting, that earlier in the week The Times reported that Chelsea are trying to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal. Walcott’s current deal at the Emirates is due to expire at the end of the 2015-16 season
