Philippe Coutinho & Ousmane Dembele updates

After losing twice to Real Madrid in a few days, and having seen Neymar leave the Camp Nou to join PSG, Barcelona are in big trouble.

However, following the Spanish Super Cup defeat, Barcelona general manager Pep Segura has said the signings of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are “close”.

Speaking on Catalan television station TV3, Pep Segura made the following statement:

We are close to Coutinho and Dembele. We are discussing their deals but do not know when it will be done.

We know we have to strengthen this team and that is what we are doing. We have to help the team.

But will the deals happen?

On Wednesday, Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo reported that Philippe Coutinho is now putting even more pressure on Liverpool to sell him to Barcelona.

Coutinho does not want to miss the opportunity to play for Barcelona and has told Liverpool he will never play for them again.

The Brazilian superstar has informed Jurgen Klopp that he does not plan to wear a Liverpool shirt again.

As for Ousmane Dembele, he went on strike at the club last week and has supposedly flown to Barcelona in anticipation of a deal being completed.
