Antonio Conte sanctions £25m bid for Inter Milan winger

Antonio Conte has informed Chelsea’s board to go ahead with plans to make a £25m offer for Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva who has been made available by the Italians, according to the Mirror.

Bid for winger sanctioned

Antonio Candreva  is apparently keen to join with fellow countryman Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

Inter are prepared to sell the winger and are demanding a fee of £25m.

Conte is keen for the club to offer Inter the money and complete a deal as quickly as possibly.

Conte’s concerns

Antonio Conte has hit out over Chelsea’s transfer dealings this month.

In his recent press conference, Conte revealed his worry over the size of his squad:

“I am concerned, but only am I worried when you try to put the players very soon, the risk to have an injury is very high. That is my worry,”

Chelsea are desperate to bolster their squad and Candreva is now being lined up.

Conte believes that the 30 year-old could be deployed as either a wing-back or just off the striker.

Premier League trio targeted

The defending Premier League champions are said to be plotting a move for Leicester midefilder Danny Drinkwater.

Chelsea have been quoted £40m by the Foxes for Drinkwater, as they look to fill their homegrown quota.

Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also Chelsea targets.
