Marouane Chamakh, Arsenal cult hero
Maroaune Chamakh will possibly go down as one of Arsene Wenger’s worst ever signings.
The Moroccan attacker scored just 8 goals for Arsenal in 40 Premier League appearances, and he became the bane of many Gooners’ existence during his time at the Emirates.
Not just for his propensity to miss open goals – his inimitable hairstyle also ensured him a certain cult hero status.
Injured on trial at West Brom
Having been released by Crystal Palace in the summer (where his goal ratio was even worse than at Arsenal), the Moroccan is now looking for a new club.
Now 32, he was probably lucky to be given a trial at Premier League club West Brom, but he wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth, and duly showed up for the trial.
But his trial against the Delhi Dynamos lasted just 26 minutes, as he was injured and forced off.
Don’t call us, we’ll call you.
