Tottenham & Schalke’s Max Meyer
This is classic Spurs.
On the last day of the transfer window, a brand new player has been linked to Tottenham.
One of the lead stories in Sport Bild on Wednesday is that Tottenham are plotting a £38 million move for Schalke’s Max Meyer.
The deal seems to be a reaction to suggestions that Isco will join Malaga and not Spurs on transfer deadline day.
20-year-old Meyer, like Isco, can fill an attacking midfield slot for the Lillywhites.
Who is Meyer?
Meyer was a regular in Schalke’s side during the 2015-16 campaign, making 41 appearances across all competitions and scoring six goals as the Royal Blues finished fifth in the Bundesliga.
Earlier in the summer, Meyer as also expressed a desire to move to the Premier League:
“If I left Schalke and was going to play football in any other league in Europe I would like to move to England.”
