According to a report from The Telegraph this afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur have an ideal replacement lined up for soon-to-be-departed full-back Kyle Walker.
It has been common knowledge for some time now that English international Walker’s move to Premier League rivals Manchester City is imminent, with Spurs set to pocket a fee in the region of £40 million from the sale.
And, it looks as though the North London club are ready to spend a large proportion of the money raised from Walker’s sale to fund a move for talented Portuguese right-back Ricardo Pereira.
The versatile 23-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Ligue 1 side Nice from parent club Porto, excelling both at right and left back (where he can fill in when needed) as Les Aiglons secured a shock Champions League spot for next season.
A bid in the region of £20 million will reportedly be sufficient to entice Porto into a sale, though Spurs will have to move quickly for Pereira, with all of PSG, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also said to be readying bids.
